Get quality sleep.

Some people feel refreshed and awake with six hours of sleep every night, and others can’t function unless they get a solid eight. Listen to your body and set your sleep schedule accordingly.

Tune out for a while.

While it’s important to keep your brain active, it’s also important to give your brain a rest every once in awhile. Spending too much time fixating on your work can leave you feeling stressed, and can exhaust your brain and decrease your cognitive ability. Giving your brain a break will allow it to reset, and it will help with any physical or psychological stress you might be feeling.

For many, meditation is a great way to relieve stress and relax the brain. For others, washing the dishes or taking a long, hot shower will force the brain into a relaxed state. Once your brain break is over, you’ll feel refreshed and more productive for the tasks ahead.
