If you’re trying to find success in your career, you’ve probably employed many strategies to give yourself a boost in the professional world. You’ll do tons of research, go to conferences to learn from experts, stay late at the office, and do whatever else you need to do to be successful and advance in your line of work.
However, there’s something that many professionals overlook when trying to improve: their brains. Optimal brain function can improve your quality of work, make you more productive, and ensure that you feel happy and energetic all day long—things that will help you rise to the top of your field.
In this blog, the New York braining training professionals at Brainnasium will give you tips for improving your brain power. With a few of these brain “hacks,” you’ll be able to maximize your brain’s potential and find the career success you’ve been searching for!
Get some exercise.
Your brain is nothing without oxygen and proper circulation—in fact, your brain needs a constant supply of blood and oxygen to function properly! That’s why it’s so important to incorporate exercise into your everyday routine. Exercising for 30 minutes a day, three days a week can drastically improve circulation throughout your entire body and increase the volume of oxygen moving to your brain—and that can do wonders for your brain power.
With more oxygen headed to your brain, you’ll experience increased levels of cognitive ability, improved memory, more energy throughout your daily life, and a sense of happiness and well-being. What’s not to like about that?
All it takes a little bit of sweating and hard work to feel better and improve your brain function—so get your workout on for better health and a better brain!
Drink some coffee.
There’s nothing more satisfying (and addicting) than a hot cup of coffee in the morning—and it turns out that your cup of Joe could have plenty of short-term benefits for your brain. It’s no secret that a little caffeine can keep you alert, but it can also help you stay focused, boost your intelligence, and increase your reaction time and reasoning skills.
The effects of coffee aren’t permanent—and naturally, the Law of Diminishing Returns comes into full effect here. Five cups of coffee won’t make you more intelligent and aware than a single cup—in fact, it’ll make you a frazzled, edgy, and sweaty mess. Stick to a cup or two to improve your brain power, and leave the rest of the pot for your family or coworkers.
Eat a healthy, balanced diet.
As a general rule, good choices for your body are usually good choices for your brain—and eating healthy is no exception. A balanced diet rich in antioxidants, amino acids, and vitamin E can improve cognitive function and memory, and provide you with the energy to stay awake and aware for longer periods of time.
There’s really no exact science to what foods improve brain function—but keep in mind the better your body feels, the more powerful your brain will be. Eating fruits and vegetables, getting your healthy amounts of protein and fats, and avoiding large amounts of sugar will all help your body and brain feel as good as they should.
